“The Turkey-Armenia border may open in the coming months” - Political commentator

“Turkey-Armenia borders may open in the coming months.” Political commentator Mohammad Asadullazade said this in an interview with Medianews.az.

He stated that steps are being taken towards normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia: “Also, a de-facto peace has been achieved between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The Republican Party of the former president Robert Kocharyan, one of the leaders of the revanchist opposition in Armenia, is bringing a draft law back to the parliamentary agenda that criminalizes the denial of the ‘Armenian genocide.’

The goal is to accuse Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of renouncing the fabricated ‘genocide’ before the elections and to create the image that he serves Turkey’s interests.

The Armenian opposition, with Russia’s support, is trying to create chaos before the next parliamentary elections. Russian officials are already speaking in line with the positions of the Armenian revanchists in their statements. This also shows that Russia is not interested in improving relations with Azerbaijan because it is pursuing a policy of raising territorial claims again through the Armenians.”
