An explosion occurred in an apartment in the city of Shirvan during the night hours.
Medianews.az reports, citing “Qafqazinfo,” that the incident was recorded in one of the private houses located on Elshad Azimov Street in the city.
During the explosion, Shirvan resident Aynura Zakir qizi Mehraliyeva, born in 1979, was admitted to the intensive care unit of Shirvan City Central Hospital in serious condition with various degrees of thermal burns and burn shock diagnosis.
Later, due to her critical condition, she was evacuated to the Burn Center in the capital.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that information was received via the “112” hotline about an explosion accompanied by fire in a private house on Elshad Azimov Street in Shirvan city.
Immediately after the information was received, forces from the State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were deployed to the area.
During the assessment of the operational situation at the scene, it was determined that in a single-story four-room apartment with a total area of 120 square meters belonging to a citizen, the explosion was presumably caused by a gas leak.
As a result of the incident, the house became unusable and one person was injured.
Necessary safety measures were taken at the scene by the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
An investigation is being conducted by the relevant authorities regarding the incident.
