As of October 1, 2025, the average monthly nominal salary of paid workers in Azerbaijan was reported to be 1087.7 manat.
Medianews.az, citing the State Statistics Committee, reports that the average salary in the oil and gas sector was 3843.9 manat, while in the non-oil/gas sector it was 1036.5 manat. The difference exceeds 2807 manats. The report states that 1,750.1 thousand people worked in the non-oil/gas sector during the reporting period, and only 31.3 thousand in the oil and gas sector.
The minimum monthly wage in the country is 400 manat.
According to the official statement, average wages increased by 9.5 percent in January-September compared to the same period of 2024.
Pensions in the country are annually indexed on January 1 according to the annual growth rate of the average monthly wage.
Men retire at 65, women at 64 and a half years. From July 1, 2026, the retirement age for women will also rise to 65.
For pension assignment, either 25 years of insurance record or the minimum pension capital is required. The minimum pension capital is calculated by multiplying the minimum pension indicator by the number of months of the expected pension payment period (12 years, 144 months), currently amounting to 46,080 manat.
From January 1, 2006, to July 1, 2018, if a person accumulated any pension capital, their social insurance record is automatically counted as 25 years; otherwise, those who have reached the retirement age but do not meet this are provided with a monthly allowance of 220 manat based on age.
The minimum amount of labor pension is 320 manat.
