Experts warn: Artificial intelligence addiction can weaken human intelligence

Representatives of the Greenwich Royal Observatory have warned that excessive use of artificial intelligence tools can weaken human thinking and analytical abilities.

Medianews.az reports that, according to the organization's representative Paddi Rodgers, fully relying on ready-made answers may reduce people's habits of research, questioning, and drawing conclusions.

This could negatively affect innovation skills in the long term.

Experts note that many scientific observations once considered "unnecessary" in history later formed the basis for important discoveries and technological advancements. Human curiosity and serendipitous findings have been the main reasons behind many scientific leaps.

At the same time, the significant role of artificial intelligence in science, including in successful projects like AlphaFold2 (a revolutionary artificial intelligence (AI) system created by Google's DeepMind division), is also emphasized.

Education experts support the use of artificial intelligence as an auxiliary tool, but consider the complete transfer of the thinking process to technology risky. According to them, this may distance people from verifiable sources.
