"Regarding the current situation, it can be said as an education expert that the rapid spread of the virus among children directly affects the educational process."
Medianews.az reports that these statements were made by education expert Qoşqar Məhərrəm in an interview with Medialog.az.
He stated that currently, a decrease in school attendance is observed:
"This poses a serious risk in terms of the quality of education. However, practice shows that the complete closure of schools in the country is considered only as a last resort. Usually, if mass infection cases intensify in certain schools or classes, local closures are implemented. That is, temporary breaks can be given not nationwide but specifically for a particular school, class, or parallel groups. The Ministry of Science and Education takes the opinion of Health institutions as a basis in such cases. If the risk of complications from the virus increases and real danger to children's health arises, the likelihood of closure rises."
