The court allowed participation in the NATO summit did not allow

The court has made a decision against Begoña Gómez, wife of Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, regarding her accompanying him to the NATO summit in Turkey.

According to Medianews.az, on June 20, Judge Juan Carlos Peinado ordered the initiation of a court case against the prime minister's wife, and as a preventive measure, ordered the confiscation of her passport and prohibited her from leaving the country.

Gómez initially asked Peinado for permission to attend the NATO summit in Ankara on July 7-8, and later to travel to London for her daughter's graduation.

The prime minister's wife was not granted permission to travel to Ankara. However, Gómez was allowed to travel to the United Kingdom. She must surrender her passport after her trip to the UK.

It should be noted that the investigation against the wife of the Spanish Prime Minister began in 2024. She is suspected of abuse of connections, embezzlement, and business corruption.
