FIFA has announced the best goal of the 2026 World Cup.
Medianews.az reports that the goal scored by "Trabzonspor" and Cape Verde national team defender Sidney Cabral against Argentina in the Round of 16 was chosen as the best goal of the tournament.
Cabral, who stepped onto the stage in the 103rd minute of the intense match, scored a goal to make the score 2-2, but the Cape Verde team was defeated by Argentina 2-3 in extra time and bid farewell to the tournament. Regardless of the match result, this goal was deemed worthy of FIFA's grand award.
It should be noted that in the voting, the second place was taken by Uzbekistan national team forward Eldor Shomurodov, and the third place by Haiti national team forward Wilson Isidor.
Recall that the winner of the WC-2026 was the Spain national team, which achieved a minimal 1-0 victory over Argentina.
