Drinks called "liquid death": A stern warning from the doctors

American cardiac surgeon Jeremy London stated based on his long-term observations that some daily habits seriously harm heart health.

Medianews.az reports that he particularly called carbonated drinks "liquid death," saying they can be harmful even in small amounts.

In addition to emphasizing that smoking and alcohol seriously damage the body, the doctor also noted that high-sugar carbonated drinks are dangerous for health. According to him, these drinks have a high-calorie content and do not create a “feeling of fullness” in the body, which can lead to excess weight and metabolic disorders.

Another American specialist, William Li, stated that the sugar, additives, and preservatives in carbonated drinks can create a "toxic load" in the body with long-term use.

According to research, these drinks increase insulin resistance and can raise the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Some studies also show an association between high consumption and certain types of cancer.

Specialists recommend clean water as the healthiest choice instead of carbonated drinks. Among alternative drinks, sugar-free tea, coffee, milk and plant-based milk products, as well as natural fruit juice in small amounts, are suggested.

Doctors generally advise reducing the regular consumption of sugary drinks and prioritizing water in daily fluid intake.
