Medianews.az reports that this is reflected in the draft law on amendments to the Labor Code, discussed at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis.
According to the draft law, ensuring equal pay for employees performing the same or different work of equal value, regardless of gender, will be considered the employer's primary duty in labor relations.
The employer will be obliged to pay equal wages to employees performing the same or different work of equal value, regardless of gender.
The equal value of the work will be determined by the employer taking into account working conditions, the nature of the labor function, and the tariff-qualification characteristics provided in the currently effective unified tariff-qualification reference books.
