According to information circulating in Western intelligence, security measures around Russian President Vladimir Putin have been raised to the highest level.
Medianews.az reports that the reason for this is the risk of assassinations against high-ranking military officers and a possible coup.
According to the information, hidden surveillance systems have been installed in the homes of people working close to Putin, their use of public transport has been banned, and they have also been forced to use simple phones without internet access.
The killing of a high-ranking general in 2025 led to significant changes in the security system. It is reported that after this, Putin and his family have refused to stay around Moscow and in some official residences.
Intelligence information also states that former defense minister Sergey Shoigu is considered a "potential threat." His continued influence within the army causes concern within the Kremlin.
Additionally, it is reported that tensions between power structures within the Kremlin have increased, and the protection of some high-ranking officers has been entrusted to special service agencies.
Due to security risks, it has also been announced that heavy military equipment will not be displayed at the Victory Day parade on May 9.
It is noted that the Kremlin has not given an official statement on the issue.
