Flood disaster in Kenya: 10 people have DIED

At least 10 people have died as a result of flooding caused by heavy rains in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.

Medianews.az reports, citing Trend, that this information was released by local media.

It was reported that floods occurred due to heavy rains that fell in the city yesterday.

Nairobi Police Commander George Seda stated in an interview with local radio that 10 people died as a result of the flooding.

According to him, 8 of the deceased lost their lives inside cars that were swept away by the rapidly rising floodwaters.

Seda noted that 2 more people died from electric shocks in different parts of the city during the flooding. Due to the strong water inundation, main roads became impassable, leaving at least 71 vehicles stranded on the roads throughout the city.

The police official added that search and rescue operations continue in many areas affected by the flood, and it is not ruled out that the death toll may increase.
