The death toll from the earthquake in Venezuela has reached 5,278 people.
This was reported by the Speaker of the country's parliament, Jorge Rodriguez, on his "X" social network account.
It is known from the government's daily report that 16,740 people sustained injuries of various degrees, and 17,907 people were left homeless. 190 buildings were completely destroyed, and serious damage was recorded in 856 objects.
Within the framework of search and rescue operations, it was possible to save 6,462 people, 41,069 people received assistance in medical institutions. Support was provided to 128,324 families, 23,587 people were placed in 107 temporary camps, and 10,964.97 tons of food were delivered to the victims.
Recall that on June 24, two strong earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 were recorded in Venezuela with approximately 40 seconds difference. The epicenters of the shocks were located 10 kilometers apart in Yaracuy state. Over 1,000 aftershocks have been recorded in the days following the earthquake. //Trend
