The hospital admitting the patient with Hantavirus 12 employees were quarantined

Twelve employees of the Radboud Medical Center in Nijmegen, Netherlands, have been placed in a six-week quarantine after violating protocols while treating a patient infected with hantavirus.

Medianews.az, citing Musavat.com, reports that the hospital stated that on May 7, the patient, who was a passenger on the MV Hondius cruise ship where the virus spread, underwent standard blood collection and processing procedures despite hantavirus requiring enhanced biosafety measures. It was later found that urine collection also did not comply with existing international regulations.

The medical center stated that "although the risk of infection is extremely low, 12 employees have been quarantined for six weeks as a precautionary measure."
