Georgia is getting more expensive - Increasing prices over one year

In May of this year, prices in Georgia's consumer market increased by 5.7 percent compared to May of last year.

Medianews.az reports that official statistics show alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 7.2 percent, communal services by 7 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages by 5.2 percent, and clothing and footwear by 3 percent.

Transportation also became more expensive compared to May of last year: 15.1 percent.

Over the course of a year, prices in public catering and hotel services increased by 7.6 percent, healthcare services by 5.1 percent, and education by 2.4 percent.
