The Ministry of Justice has launched the "Online Registration of Meetings with Prisoners" service to organize meetings with prisoners more efficiently.
According to information provided to Medianews.az by the Ministry, the new service allows visitors to apply online for meetings with prisoners, select the time and type of meeting, register in advance the items to be brought during the meeting, and also track the execution status of the application in real-time.
The main purpose of the service is to digitalize the registration process of meetings with prisoners, increase citizen satisfaction, and minimize paperwork in penitentiary institutions.
The "Online Registration of Meetings with Prisoners" service is provided in the "Electronic Services" section on the official website of the Ministry of Justice. Visitors can enter the service and apply by filling in the required information.
Identification is primarily done via "myGov ID" or by the series and number of the ID card. Then, an online form for the meeting (meeting type, institution, date, participants, etc.) is filled out, and information about the items to be brought is added; the application is sent to the relevant penitentiary institution of the Ministry of Justice. The institution reviews the application, and if approved, an SMS notification is sent to the citizen. Meetings are held only on the pre-determined date and time.
Currently, the electronic service has been piloted at Penitentiary Institution No. 4. The implementation of the service will be gradually extended to all penitentiary institutions under the Ministry of Justice.
It should be noted that the new electronic service transfers the interaction between citizens and penitentiary institutions to a digital environment and ensures that meeting applications are managed transparently, quickly, and traceably.
