Fatima was tortured for two months - Azerbaijani killed in Georgia

New and horrifying details have emerged regarding the murder of 21-year-old Fatimə Kərimova, an Azerbaijani citizen in Georgia.

Medianews.az reports that, according to the circulated information, the young woman was killed by her maternal cousin. It is stated that he kept Fatimə in a rented apartment for about two weeks, brutally beat her, and then strangled her to death.

According to the claims, Fatimə Kərimova came to Tbilisi with her boyfriend. However, after financial difficulties arose, her boyfriend first pawned her phone, then left the young woman alone on the street and returned to Azerbaijan.

According to human rights defenders, initially a woman who is a Georgian citizen gave refuge to Fatimə, who was in a difficult situation. Later, a relative — her maternal cousin — contacted her and said he would rent an apartment. But it later became known that his intention was not to help, but to commit a crime.

The relatives of the murdered young woman stated on social media that Fatimə had lost her parents and only her 19-year-old sister remained from the family.

It should be noted that the first information about the incident was released by Baia Pataraia, head of "Sapari," an organization providing legal aid to victims of domestic violence in Georgia. According to her, a few days ago a Russian influencer asked her to investigate this tragedy and bring it to the public's attention.

Pataraia stated that Fatimə came to this country believing her boyfriend's promise that "we will live and work together in Georgia." However, the promised job did not materialize. When financial hardship arose, her boyfriend beat her, pawned her phone, and left her alone on the street, returning to Azerbaijan.

According to the information, afterward, an Armenian woman gave refuge to the young girl and helped her contact relatives. After some time, one of her relatives came to Georgia and placed her in a rented apartment. A few days later, contact with Fatimə was lost.

After her sister living in Azerbaijan could not reach her for two days, she asked that woman to check on her at the apartment. Since no one answered the door, the police were called. Law enforcement broke the door and entered the apartment, discovering the body of Fatimə Kərimova.

According to Pataraia, the suspect wanted for the crime fled to Turkey after the incident and is wanted.

It should be noted that the Georgian law enforcement agencies continue the investigation of the case. Musavat.com
