An unusual insurance fraud has been exposed in the USA. A group of individuals wore bear costumes to damage expensive cars and presented the incident as a "wild animal attack."
Medianews.az reports that a group of individuals wore bear costumes to damage expensive cars and presented the incident as a "wild animal attack."
26-year-old Ruben Tamrazyan, 32-year-old Vaqe Muradxanyan, and 39-year-old Alfiya Tsukerman attempted to receive $141,800 from insurance companies with this plan.
They claimed that in January 2024, in the Lake Arrowhead area of California, a bear damaged their three cars. However, experts examined the video and determined that the "bear" was actually a person wearing a costume.
As a result of the trial, the three individuals received 180 days of imprisonment (to be served on weekends) and were all forced to pay compensation. The fourth participant — 39-year-old Ararat Çirkinyan — will appear in court in September.
