To the chief physician of "Dünyagöz" A criminal case was opened.

A criminal case has been opened against Kenan Yıldırım, the chief physician of "Dünyagöz" hospital.

Medianews.az reports, citing Qaynarinfo, that the issue concerns the loss of vision in the left eye of a person named V.G. after a cataract surgery performed in 2024.

V.G. claims that serious problems arose in his left eye after the surgery. According to him, intraocular pressure increased, and the pain reached an unbearable level. The patient consulted various well-known eye doctors in Baku regarding this.

According to the complainant, based on doctors' opinions, performing cataract surgery on the left eye at that time was not appropriate. During the initial examination, hemorrhages were observed on the retina, and this condition later caused rubeosis iridis and glaucoma. As a result of the medical error committed by Kenan Yıldırım, his left eye permanently lost its vision ability.

The patient had previously complained against Kenan Yıldırım, but as a result of the investigation, a decision was made to "reject the initiation of a criminal case."

However, based on V.G.'s complaint, the case was reviewed again in the Sabail District Court of Baku City. The court decided to annul the decision to "reject the initiation of a criminal case" and to send the materials for further investigation to the relevant authority.

It should be noted that the court's decision does not imply that Kenan Yıldırım is guilty, and the investigation regarding the matter will continue.
