It has been announced that FIFA earned a record amount of revenue from the World Cup held this summer.
Medianews.az reports that the highest football authority generated a total revenue of 15 billion dollars (approximately 25.5 billion manat) from the tournament. This figure significantly exceeded the previously forecasted 11 billion dollars.
It is stated that the main part of the revenue was formed from the sale of VIP packages and tickets, especially at high prices on the secondary market. FIFA charges a 15 percent commission from both the buyer and the seller on these sales.
It should be noted that the price for one remaining VIP ticket for the Spain – Argentina final is 34,500 dollars (approximately 58.6 thousand manat).
