Recently, various supplements promising rapid weight loss have become widespread on social networks. It is claimed that substances such as chlorophyll, magnesium citrate, and inositol reduce weight in a short period. However, experts say that this approach lacks scientific basis.
Medianews.az, citing Foodinfo.az, reports that dietitian Olga Chuntonova noted that such "trend" supplements actually only create a false impression. According to her, these agents do not cause real fat loss.
The specialist explains that although each of the mentioned substances has a certain role in the body, none of them directly burns fat. For example, magnesium participates in the regulation of the nervous system and can reduce stress. Inositol affects insulin sensitivity. Chlorophyll is mainly presented as a marketing product and its effectiveness in weight loss has not been proven. The most important point is that these substances do not create an energy deficiency, and without that, it is not possible to reduce weight.
The dietitian emphasizes that the rapid results shown on social networks are mostly not related to fat loss. In this process, more so the decrease of water in the body, depletion of glycogen reserves, and emptying of the intestines play a role. As a result, the weight loss obtained is temporary and returns in a short time.
Additionally, such approaches do not take into account the main factors of weight loss. Important factors such as hormonal balance, eating behavior, sleep quality, and stress level remain overlooked. Whereas to achieve long-term and healthy results, regulation of precisely these indicators is necessary.
Experts note that the idea of "fast and easy weight loss" creates unrealistic expectations in people. This often leads to unsuccessful attempts and the return of weight. As a result, the body adapts to new conditions and losing weight becomes even more difficult. Balanced nutrition and lifestyle changes play a key role for healthy and sustainable weight loss.
