Penalties are determined for engaging in begging in the law.
This issue is reflected in the draft law on amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which was brought up for discussion at today's session of the National Assembly.
According to the draft, a warning will be issued for engaging in begging, or a fine ranging from one hundred to two hundred manats will be imposed, or, considering the circumstances of the case and the identity of the offender, if the application of these measures is deemed insufficient, administrative detention for up to ten days will be applied.
In case of involving a minor in begging - a fine ranging from two hundred to five hundred manats will be imposed or, considering the circumstances of the case and the identity of the offender, if the application of these measures is deemed insufficient, administrative detention for up to fifteen days will be applied.
The draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
