In the top division of Azerbaijan's national football championship (Misli Premier League), the legionnaire limit - there is no restriction on the number of foreign players on the field.
Looking at the squads in the top division, Medianews.az reports that out of 25 players in the "Karabakh" team, 17 are foreigners, and in the "Neftchi" team, 16 are foreigners.
In the "Zire" team, 15 of 26 players, in the "Sabah" and "Turan Tovuz" teams, 13 of 22 players, and in the "Araz-Nakhchivan" team, 12 of 21 players are legionnaires.
In the "Sumqayit" team, out of 21 players, in the "Imishli" team with 23 players, and in the "Gabala" team with 29 players, 11 are newcomers.
In the "Shamakhi" and "Karvan-Yevlakh" teams, 10 of 24 players, and in the "Kapaz" team, 9 are foreigners.
According to the rule, for the first 7 foreign players added to the team roster, each pays a fee of 5,000 manat; for the 8th to 12th legionnaires, each pays 10,000 manat; for the 13th to 15th foreigners, each pays 100,000 manat; and for the 16th and subsequent legionnaires, each pays 200,000 manat in fees.
