Psychologists believe that high intelligence does not always bring advantages; on the contrary, it can create a number of difficulties.
Medianews.az reports citing "Yourtango" that intelligent people often experience social isolation, emotional difficulties, and problems in relationships.
According to psychologist Anjelika Shils, the average IQ score is 100, while the IQ of people considered intelligent usually does not exceed 120. However, individuals with an IQ above 120 often do not find intellectual stimulation in daily life, which worsens their psychological condition.
"Such people often suffer from depression, abuse psychoactive substances, or remain outside relationships," Shils said.
Psychotherapist Imi Lo emphasized that although highly intelligent people seek deep emotional connection, they have difficulty building healthy relationships. Their sense of isolation sometimes forces them to stay in toxic relationships.
Experts add that such people need continuous intellectual stimulation. Studies show that activities that regularly engage the brain provide long-term benefits; otherwise, loss of interest and mental decline may occur.
