According to the updated regulations, in the 2026-2027 season, 237 teams from the 54 members of UEFA are admitted to the organization's club tournaments (Russia is excluded from the competitions).
Medianews.az reports that 81 teams will start in the Champions League, 45 in the Europa League, and 111 in the Conference League.
Each of the three tournaments has four qualifying rounds. Teams eliminated in the first round of the Champions League will move to the Conference League, and those eliminated in subsequent rounds will move to the Europa League; teams eliminated in the Europa League qualifiers will move to the Conference League. In the 36-team league stages, the top 8 teams will advance to the round of 16, and the teams ranked 9th to 24th will enter the round of 32.
Azerbaijan will participate in the season with 4 teams. "Sabah" will start from the first qualifying round of the Champions League (July 7-15), "Qarabağ" from the first qualifying round of the Europa League (July 9-16), "Neftçi" from the first qualifying round of the Conference League (July 9-16), and "Turan Tovuz" will begin from the second round (July 23-30).
