Khomeini's grandchild made a public appeal

The grandson of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ruhollah Khomeini, and currently considered one of the possible candidates for the country's next supreme leader post, cleric Hassan Khomeini has addressed the public.

Medianews.az reports that Hassan Khomeini said: "Do not leave the streets and mosques even for a moment. Our strength lies in the unity of the people, in people being in the squares."

Hassan Khomeini emphasized that the mosques must be full until the war ends: "From today until the end of the war, everyone’s duty is to be in the mosques, to fill the mosques. Our strongholds are the mosques and city squares. Every square must be filled with people dressed in black holding the flag of Imam Hussein."

Hassan Khomeini currently serves as the guardian and head of his grandfather Khomeini’s mausoleum. He has never held a government position. In 2016, he ran for the Assembly of Experts but did not succeed.

In the current war conditions, his call is regarded as a political message serving mobilization and social mobilization within the country.
