The US military carried out an additional military operation against Iran on July 8.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced this on its social media account "X".
According to CENTCOM's statement, the purpose of the operation was to further weaken Iran's capabilities to attack commercial shipping and civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz.
The information states that US forces targeted air defense systems located along Iran's coastline, coastal surveillance equipment, storage sites for missiles and drones, naval facilities, as well as military logistics infrastructure. In total, it is noted that approximately 90 military targets were struck.
According to the statement, these operations are a continuation of attacks that the US carried out in Iran one day earlier.
It should be noted that CENTCOM had announced on July 7 that it struck approximately 80 military targets belonging to Iran. Among those targets, it was reported that there were more than 60 small fast boats belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC/SEPAH). /ajans.az
