2.2 million dollars have been allocated from the Kazakh capital for the protection and scientific research of the Caspian Sea, which is centered on the decline of the water level of the last water.
Modern.az reports that Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov signed a decree regarding this.
The decree states that 2.2 million dollars will be allocated from the reserve fund to ensure the ecological sustainability of the Caspian Sea.
It was noted that the allocated funds will be given to the Caspian Sea Scientific Research Institute established last year in the city of Aktau located on the Caspian coast, and the funding will strengthen the scientific potential of the institute.
Kazakhstan, the country with the longest coastline on the Caspian Sea, has been concerned in recent years about the significant decline in the sea level. Since the sea has the largest oil fields and serves as a transit route to Europe, it holds strategic importance for the country. (Economic.az)
