It is reported that some cars imported to Azerbaijan from US auctions have had changes made to their VIN codes or their history erased.
According to Medianews.az referring to Xezerxeber.az, according to experts, for this reason it becomes difficult to determine the actual mileage and accident history of the car.
During inspections, serious discrepancies are found between the mileage indicator in the US and the indicator in Azerbaijan, as well as cases where cars involved in serious accidents have been repaired and put up for sale.
Experts advise buyers to check the VIN code in international databases before purchasing a car, to conduct a technical inspection, and to request documents confirming the history.
