Emin Aliyev, a resident of Aghjabadi district, who is accused of murdering Azerbaijani Fatima Karimova in Georgia, has been detained.
Medianews.az reports citing Oxu.az that after the murder incident, the Georgian internal affairs authorities issued a search for E. Aliyev.
E. Aliyev was detained through operations conducted by Turkish law enforcement officers.
According to information, currently, efforts are underway to extradite him to Georgia.
It should be noted that Fatima Karimova, a resident of Aghjabadi district, fled to Georgia together with her lover Kenan Aliyev. Later, Kenan Aliyev tore up Fatima Karimova’s passport and threw it away, preventing her from returning to Azerbaijan. K. Aliyev returned to Azerbaijan after the incident. Unable to return to her country, F. Karimova asked for help from her cousin E. Aliyev residing in Azerbaijan. E. Aliyev went to Georgia and strangled F. Karimova to death. He then fled from Georgia to Turkey.
