A large-scale memorial ceremony was held in Tehran on the 40th day of the death of Iran's former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
According to "Qafqazinfo," traffic in the city center was restricted and security measures were strengthened in connection with the ceremony.
A large number of people participated in the ceremony; residents of Tehran filled the streets to commemorate Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Religious rites and special memorial events constituted the main part of the ceremony.
The central streets and squares of the city were filled with participants who brought flags and portraits to honor the memory of the late leader.
It should be recalled that Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of an attack carried out by Israel against Iran on February 28. Along with him, his son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and grandchild also died. On March 2, after strikes by the US and Israel on Iran, news spread of the death of Khamenei's wounded wife, Mansureh Khochasté, but this news was later denied.
