The death toll from strong earthquakes in Venezuela has increased.
Medianews.az, citing Lent.az, reports that according to the latest information, the number of deaths from the natural disaster has reached 235, and more than 4,300 people have been injured. Concern remains about the fate of thousands of people, and search and rescue operations are ongoing without interruption.
The Venezuelan authorities have declared a state of emergency in the country and large-scale rescue and recovery efforts have begun in the regions most affected by the earthquake.
It should be noted that on the evening of June 24, two powerful underground tremors with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 were recorded 40 seconds apart. The epicenter of the earthquakes was located in Yaracuy state, and the epicenters were approximately 10 kilometers apart from each other.
