A 31-year-old man named Andres Portilla in the USA has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for kidnapping three young women and committing acts of violence against them.

In September 2022, Portilla deceived a teenage girl in the Queens area, took her to his residence, and repeatedly sexually assaulted her.
In November, he hit the girl on the head with a key, breaking her eye socket, and put her in his car.
He kept the girl in the car for two months, parking in remote areas and threatening to kill her if she tried to escape. He provided her with a small amount of food.
During this period, Portilla also deceived another teenage girl, brought her to his car, assaulted her, and released her the same day. In January 2023, he tricked a 21-year-old woman into getting into his car under the pretense of charging her phone and held her captive for four days. The woman reported to the police immediately after her release.
Portilla was apprehended on January 6, 2023, after a police pursuit. The first kidnapped girl was also found in the vehicle. The victim required months of treatment to recover.
Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz described these crimes as “horrific acts of physical and sexual violence.” Portilla admitted guilt on several charges related to human trafficking, rape, and assaults. The judge sentenced him to 40 years in prison and 20 years of supervised release after imprisonment.
