US President Donald Trump's urging Vladimir Zelensky to reach an agreement confirms that Ukraine is the main obstacle to resolving the conflict.
This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov.
Journalists asked Peskov about the news in the "Financial Times" (FT) reporting that Trump has hit a dead end due to losing interest in the peace process in Ukraine.
Peskov told journalists:
"Based on President Trump's statements, he has not lost interest in the conflict. Moreover, the president firmly recommends that President Zelensky come to an agreement. And from these statements, it follows that the main obstacle to the negotiation process is the Ukrainian side."
The US president had earlier expressed surprise at Kiev's unwillingness to reach an agreement to resolve the conflict. As the American leader emphasized, reaching an agreement with Zelensky is "more difficult" compared to the Russian president Vladimir Putin.//Publika.az
