US President Donald Trump stated regarding the planned naval blockade against ships entering or leaving Iranian ports that other countries are also joining the process to prevent Iran's oil sales.
Medianews.az reports that Donald Trump gave a statement to journalists at the Andrews military airbase in the state of Maryland.
He said that the situation regarding the Strait of Hormuz is developing positively for the US and that the temporary ceasefire reached with Iran remains in effect.
According to him, the blockade will begin at 18:00 Baku time, and it is expected that this step will be effective. Trump also emphasized that the US has large energy reserves and claimed that other countries are not dependent on the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump stated that Iran has not taken a step back on the nuclear issue, noting that Tehran is in a difficult position and said that whether or not it returns to negotiations is not important to him.
It should be noted that the last talks between the US and Iran took place on April 11 in Islamabad through Pakistani mediation. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the decision for a naval blockade against Iranian ports.
