White House leader Donald Trump has threatened to impose new, high tariffs on products exported to the US if Europe imposes taxes on the digital services of American companies.
Trump wrote about this on "Truth Social."
"Many European countries are discussing the imminent imposition of a digital services tax on American companies. Some of these countries are close to actually implementing it. Let this statement serve as a warning that any country implementing such a tax will immediately face a 100% tariff on all goods sent to the US. These tariffs will override trade agreements made with those countries, regardless of whether those agreements have already come into force or have been signed. Additionally, if they start collecting the aforementioned tax from American companies, a 100% tariff will be imposed immediately," he added./Report
