On January 17, an ATR 42-500 aircraft belonging to Indonesia Air Transport, flying from Yogyakarta city in Indonesia to Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi province, crashed.
According to Ajans.az citing foreign media, on January 18, Indonesian rescuers discovered the wreckage of the plane at the summit of Mount Bulusaraung located in South Sulawesi province.
According to the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency, rescuers found the bodies of all 10 people on board the crashed plane. It was reported that the evacuation of the bodies continues, but the inaccessible mountainous terrain complicates the rescue operations.
According to information, the plane was conducting a charter flight for the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and was monitoring fishing areas by air. There were seven crew members and three ministry employees on the plane.
