In the city of Gabala, within the framework of the "Peace Bridge" initiative, a meeting took place with Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, during a bilateral roundtable involving representatives of Azerbaijani and Armenian civil societies.
According to Medianews.az citing Teleqraf, during the meeting, Hikmat Hajiyev exchanged views with the participants and also answered questions from the Armenian delegation.
The meeting emphasized the Azerbaijani government's commitment to the peace agenda.
The meeting also again highlighted our country's adherence to the agreed peace agenda between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington and to the spirit of the Washington Summit.
It was noted that trade relations between the two countries have been established and that the transit of goods from Azerbaijan to Armenia is being ensured; the implementation of the TRIPP project was mentioned, stating that it will serve to change the atmosphere in the region and the entire regional transport landscape.
H. Hajiyev noted that just as negotiations on the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia have a bilateral character, it is also important that these exchanges and confidence-building measures between civil societies have a bilateral nature.
The President’s assistant emphasized that, against the backdrop of new upheavals and wars occurring worldwide, ensuring peace and security in the South Caucasus is extremely important.
