During a circus show in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, a safety net collapsed, resulting in a tiger escaping from its cage and entering the area where the spectators were sitting.
Medianews.az reports that, although there were three tigers on stage at the time of the incident, one of them escaped from the cage due to the failure of the protective system.
The animal quickly headed towards the rows where the audience was seated, causing panic in the hall. Parents and children tried to leave the area in fear.
Circus staff managed to take control of the tiger, and the animal was later removed from the tent. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
According to eyewitnesses, the situation could have turned into a tragedy and there was great chaos in the hall.
The circus administration described the incident as a “technical failure and human error,” stated that the tigers were specially trained, and noted that a serious danger was averted.
