In the Azerbaijani segment of social networks, discussions are ongoing about whether the last Saturday and Sunday of this year are working or non-working days. As is known, the government sometimes changes the positioning of working and non-working days to ensure the continuity of rest days given during holidays. The discussions on social networks are related to this.
However, the Medianews.az website draws attention to the fact that the government has no such decision regarding the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year holiday. That is, this week's Saturday and Sunday (December 27, 28) are rest days.
The coming Monday and Tuesday (December 29, 30) are working days.
December 31, January 1, 2, 3, 4 are non-working days.
December 31 is a holiday according to the government's decisions for 2025, and January 1 and 2 for 2026. January 3 and 4 are non-working days because they fall on Saturday and Sunday.
January 5 is the first working day of 2026.
Thus:
December 27, 28 – non-working days;
December 29, 30 – working days;
December 31, January 1, 2, 3, 4 – non-working days;
January 5 – working day.
