Bayan village of Dashkasan district, located at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level in the embrace of the Murov mountains, is one of the ancient settlements of Azerbaijan.
Stone houses preserving the traces of time, an ancient bridge, the Çiçirəvəng Alban temple dating back to the 7th-9th centuries, and the remains of many religious buildings turn this village into a real open-air museum.
At one time in this village, it was possible to pass from the window of one of the 67 houses to another without touching the ground.
The people in the village are mainly engaged in farming and animal husbandry. This village is also one of the locations that attract the attention of directors. Thus, many scenes of the famous Azerbaijani film "I Was Not Beautiful," filmed in 1968, were shot in Bayan.
Report's correspondents visited Bayan village and prepared a report about the village's history and the lifestyle of its people.
