The appearance of humanoid robots at the Spring Festival gala program organized by China's state television CCTV on the occasion of the Lunar New Year marked the evening.
Medianews.az reports that the robots attracted great attention from the audience with their kung-fu performance.
The robots went on stage together with a group of children and demonstrated movements belonging to kung-fu, China's traditional martial art, with high precision and coordination. The synchronized and disciplined performance was met with applause.
The "H2" model humanoid robots developed by "Unitree Robotics" performed together with the students of the Tagou Martial Arts School operating in Henan province. The robots skillfully used tools such as staff, sword, and nunchaku, successfully executing complex moves like somersaults and flying kicks.
The footage quickly spread both in China and on international social media platforms. The posts emphasized the country's rapid development in the field of robot technologies.
Last year, the company's "H1" model presented a traditional Chinese dance at the gala program. This year's kung-fu show was evaluated as a further step forward in terms of technical difficulty.
The Chinese government considers humanoid robots as one of the strategic technologies of the artificial intelligence-based future. In 2025, a half marathon in Beijing, where robots and humans participate together, as well as the World Humanoid Robot Games were organized.
