The decision made by the Israeli government regarding the so-called "Armenian genocide" causes serious concern.
Medianews.az reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has issued a statement on this matter:
"The distortion of historical truths related to the events of 1915, and the transformation of complex historical processes into a subject of political decision-making that is far from legal and scientific foundations, is unacceptable.
Such actions do not promote reconciliation and mutual understanding but serve to deepen existing contradictions and hinder ongoing efforts for lasting peace and reconciliation in the region.
We call on the Israeli government to reconsider this decision.
Azerbaijan will continue to maintain its consistent position in defense of historical truths, respect for the principles of international law, and the promotion of lasting peace in the region."
