Hediye Şanal, an 82-year-old living in the Beyşehir district of Konya province in Turkey, applied to the hospital with complaints of abdominal pain and constipation.
According to Medianews.az, following examinations, the woman was diagnosed with colon cancer.
Thanks to early diagnosis and surgery, Şanal, who regained her health, stated that she came to the hospital early in the morning and had no pain after the operation.
The doctor who performed the surgery emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and said that timely detection of colon cancer improves quality of life. He recommended that people aged 45 and over, those with a family history of colon cancer, and those experiencing regular constipation and bleeding issues should definitely undergo examination.
The doctor also emphasized that screening programs are of great importance for detecting the disease at an early stage.
