The court investigation that has been ongoing for more than two years for employees of the Chamber of Auditors accused of embezzlement has come to an end.
Medianews.az reports, citing "Qafqazinfo," that during the session held at the Baku Serious Crimes Court, the prosecutor delivered the indictment speech.
In this case, former head of the Finance and Technical Support Department of the Chamber of Auditors, chief accountant Vəli Rəhimov, financial-accountant of the Finance Support and Foreign Relations Department Gövhər Əhmədova, and another accountant of the Chamber, Fəridə Novruzova, are being tried.
The prosecutor demanded that all three be found especially guilty of large-scale embezzlement and sentenced each to 10 years in prison. According to the demand, the defendants who have been free until now must be arrested in the courtroom today.
The accused ex-officials were given time to prepare their final statements and their lawyers’ defense speeches.
It should be noted that these individuals are accused of embezzling 700 thousand manat by abusing their official powers.
