According to the Central Bank's statistical bulletin, as of January 1, 2026, 524.5 million manat of non-performing loans have been registered in Azerbaijan.
Medianews.az reports that at the beginning of 2025, overdue loans were shown as 449.1 million manat.
In 2015, non-performing loans of 976.3 million manat were recorded in the country. The devaluations in that year increased the problematic loans. The years started with 1 billion 508.5 million manat in 2016, 1 billion 472.6 million manat in 2017, 1 billion 626.7 million manat in 2018, and 1 billion 585 million manat in 2019.
In 2019, the government provided devaluation compensations to individuals for loan agreements concluded from January 1, 2012.
In 2020, overdue loans amounted to 1 billion 273.1 million manat, in 2021 to 893.1 million manat, in 2022 to 719.4 million manat, in 2023 to 593.7 million manat, and in 2024 to 437.8 million manat.
