Two years ago, footage of Uzbek singer Dilnoza Akbarova singing "Bayatı-Şiraz" at a competition in Uzbekistan resurfaced on social media.
Medianews.az recalls that, in an interview with "Khazar News," Dilnoza Akbarova characterized "Bayatı-Şiraz," one of the masterpieces of Azerbaijani mugham, as a piece that is as beautiful as it is difficult to perform.
Among the judges of the "Ovoz Uzbekistan" competition were Uzbekistan's Minister of Culture Azadbek Nazarbekov, People's Artist and leader of the "Yalla" group Farrukh Zakirov, and others, who gave high praise to Dilnoza Akbarova's performance.
According to the Uzbek performer, she listened to and admired "Bayatı-Şiraz" performed by Azerbaijani singers.
