Every year, 13 days after the Novruz holiday, an interesting tradition takes place in the regions – the "səməni atdı" ceremony. Most people throw the sprouts they grew for Novruz into running water, intending for their wishes to come true.
The participants in the ceremony throw their sprouts into the water and pray for their wishes to be fulfilled. According to belief, the intention of the person who throws the sprout into the water is realized by the next Novruz holiday. Those whose wishes come true participate again in the ceremony the following holiday and share sweets with the other participants.
This tradition has been preserved for many years.
