On October 29, an extraordinary election is being held for the lower house of parliament (House of Representatives) in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Medianews.az reports that the House of Representatives, elected by proportional representation (party lists), consists of 150 members.
The upper house (Senate), consisting of 75 members, is formed by election according to regions.
The force having 76 deputies in the House of Representatives has the right to form the government. In the October 29 election, 27 parties are competing.
In the parliamentary election held on November 22, 2023, the nationalist Freedom Party prevailed, but the coalition government formed in the summer of 2024 broke up after one year, and an extraordinary election has been scheduled.
Polls again show the Freedom Party in the lead.
