On May 6, a barrel of Azerbaijani oil branded "AzeriLight" is sold for $118.56.
Medianews.az reports that this price is $53.56 higher than what is planned in the state budget.
Oil has become more expensive since February 28 amid tensions between the US and Israel with Iran.
In Azerbaijan's 2026 budget, one barrel of oil is priced at $65; "AzeriLight" started January at $65.71, February at $69.72, March at $79.60, April at $132.35, and May at $122.26.
The international coalition of exporters has set Azerbaijan's daily crude oil production norm at 551 thousand barrels. The Ministry of Energy indicated oil production including condensate at 6.6 million tons for the first quarter of 2026.
