"Artificial intelligence is both a threat and an opportunity."
Medianews.az reports that this was stated by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli, in an interview with AZERTAC.
He emphasized that we cannot accept every challenge as a threat and openly confront it:
"It is very difficult to give an unequivocal answer to this. Because artificial intelligence is both a threat and an opportunity. Art reveals human emotions and feelings as the product of creativity and imagination. How can there be a new system, a new mechanism that would replace this? This question should make one think. Is this a threat?
Today, does artificial intelligence replace the work of a composer? At first glance, artificial intelligence easily composes music. But is there humanity, emotion, a soul within that music? There is no straightforward answer to this question. Will artificial intelligence replace the human soul, human feelings? Will it be able to replace the artist? Because when an artist creates a work, he expresses his emotions, inner world, and philosophy."
The minister noted that artificial intelligence is indeed a threat to people's work in the field of dubbing art, and this can be accepted as a threat:
"Because dubbing is carried out very professionally and any feature film can be dubbed in a very short time, making it ready for use. Should these opportunities be utilized? Certainly, they should."
